They are now following their teacher, Kanu, so Peter Obi and other presidential candidates who have relied on the Southeast may have to look for alternatives.

"Before he was arrested, he made it clear to everyone that the elections would not be held on Igbo land, he's back and the agitation continues.

This will affect Peter Obi more than other candidates." Speaking to our correspondent, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful said, "Biafrans at home and abroad, including our friends, should rejoice that the almighty Chukwu Okike Abiama has done it again "The realization of Biafra is the next goal and nothing will stop IPOB from achieving the freedom of Biafra.

However, when contacted, the general leader of the South East Coalition of southeast  Youth Leaders, COSEYL, Mr Goodluck Ibem, responded to Onuh saying that Kanu's release would favor the Labor Party candidate.

"We're glad he was released. The release of Mazi cannot change Peter Obi's negativity, but will add color to what is already happening," he said.

Asked if it was possible that Kanu would call on Igbo people, especially young people, to boycott the Igbo presidency, Mr Ibem said: "I can't read his mind to know if he would say that , but what I do know is that we're delighted that he's been released and we're ready to vote.

Similarly, a Labor Party member in Abuja, who identified himself simply as Mr IK, said that Knau's release would force many Igbos to change their negative perception of Nigeria
